Formatted in the Charlotte Mason style, you and your child will enjoy charming stories about nature, insects, and animals. You can read the stories together, discuss the vocabulary, have the child narrate back to you, and then use the questions for discussion found at the start of each chapter. Included are sections with copywork, drawing pages, and activity pages. At the end of each section is a nature walk with journal or a library science guide.

The notebook is designed to be used over the course of a year in 28 weeks. This schedule offers two days for science each week. At this young age, science can easily be covered in that time.
